Biographic Masashi Kishimoto, The Creator of Naruto

Masashi Kishimoto was born in Okayama prefecture, Japan. He has a twin brother named Seishi Kishimoto.

When Kishimoto was a child, he really likes to watch anime (animated tv-series in japan). One of his favorite anime is Doraemon. All his friends also like Doraemon and all of them like to draw Doraemon, but among them Kishimoto was the most perfectionist, he likes to protest if his friends wrong drawing Doraemon, then he will show them how to draw correctly.

 When in the school, Masashi Kishimoto was more like drawing than listening to lessons. Even there is a story about him that still draw while playing hide and seek, waiting found by his friends. Kishimoto favorite anime while he in elementary school is Doraemon, until one day he watched the anime Mobile Suit Gundam. Kishimoto begun to shift his drawing from simple character like Doraemon to more complex character like Gundam.


Then, the new anime come out, named Dr.Slump created by Akira Toriyama (creator of Dragon Ball). Kishimoto respect Toriyama’s drawing style and begun to study how to draw character in the anime. He very impressed to Toriyama. This admiration also be the starting point of Kishimoto intention to be mangaka (comic artist in Japan). He decide to be famous mangaka like Akira Toriyama. Kishimoto's first work is “Hiatari-Kun” which tells the story of a teenager ninja.

But when he entering Junior High School, he attentions was sidetracked by the Baseball. He become rarely draw because there is no time for it. But one day he saw a anime poster that had a very good drew. That anime titled “Akira” created by Katsuhiko Ootomo. After that Kishimoto become intersted again to become mangaka.

At eleventh grade, Kishimoto completed a short 31 pages manga. When he showed the mangan to his brother, his brother said that the manga is bad. Curious with his brother answer, and the he showed the manga to his father, the answer is same with his brother. Not give up, he send his manga to Jump Magazine Award. But he failed.

His failure make he vibrant to continue making manga, but always fails. Until he graduated from high school with rank 38 of 39 students. This make Kishimoto worry about his future. But he always drawing with “all will success” motto. With this motto he draw and continue send manga to Jump Magazine.

All his hard work finally make a very good result. His first comics were published by Jump Weekly titled “Karakuri” in 1996. After that one of his early manga draft that tell the story about a teenager ninja from konoha village, attract attention of editors of Jump Magazine. The manga published soon and we know as Naruto Series.


Naruto’s Anime and Manga is one of the most populat anime series and manga in the world until now.
